The Caribbean Judo Confederation invites all Federations and Associations Members affiliated to participate in :
Caribbean Senior Judo Championship 2008
This Event will be organized by the Haitian Judo Federation and will take place in Port – au – Prince, Haiti on June 14th – 15th, 2008.

FINANCIAL Conditions
The cost for accommodation, food and internal transportation for Delegations is US $ 50.00 per person per day.
A Tour SDQ /PAP/SDQ will be organized for the Delegations arriving from the Dominican Republic with departure the 14th and return on the 16th. Two packages are available:
By Plane: Transportation SDQ/ PAP/SDQ, internal transport,
accommodation and food for two days: $ 300.00 US per person.
By road: Transportation SDQ/PAP/SDQ, internal transport,
accommodation and food for two days: $ 200.00 US per person.
NB : All payments must be done in cash ( US dollars) any other kind will not be accepted .
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Each National Federation shall assume all responsability for accidents and/or illness as well its Delegation civic responsibility during its stay in Haiti.
During the event the Organizing Committee will provide Doctors for first aids, medical emergency assistance and evacuation systems.
The Organizing Committee will provide an Emergency Medical Service to all the Participants officially enrolled by their National Federation.
In case of any need of Extraordinary Medical attention, such as injury and /or illness that requires hospitalization, special treatments, surgery and /or medicine, the cost will be assumed by the National Federation the athlete represents. Thus, all Participating Federations will not consider the CJC, the Organizing Committee or the Haitian Judo Federation, responsible for any accident incurred during the competition.
COMPETITION RULES
The Caribbean Senior Judo Championship will be organized in accordance with the International Judo Federation (FIJ) Regulations, adapted by the Panamerican Judo Union.
ADMINISTRATIVE
Before the official weigh in
starts, the athletes must present their passport and their respective
Accreditation for the event in order to verify the identity of them. All the
athletes must be affiliated to the Panamerican Judo Union and in case of being
black belts, they must be PJU Recognized ( Resolutions 01 and 02 of the
Panamerican Judo Congress - conducted in Santo Domingo - 2002 )
Since all this events is an OFFICIAL Events of the Panamerican Judo Union, all the participants officially registered by their National Federations must comply with the resolutions of the Panamerican Judo Congress, conducted in Santo Domingo, about the annual affiliation payment corresponding to this year 2003, and which will be cancelled once registered in the city of Porlamar ( Isla Margarita, Venezuela ), and following the prices listed herein below:
1. Athletes: 20 US $
2. Officials: 30 US $ (delegates, referees, physicians , physiotherapists,
coaches)
3. Grade Recognition
(Dan): 60 US $
People that arrive before the specified dates or stay after the exit date, they will cancel same payments that the unofficial ones
About
members program and homologation of grades Dan
Art. I: Since January 1, 2004 all grades Dan should be approved by the president of their respective Federation, no exception, technical delegates should present homologation commission and member’s program a list f their respective team (Athletes, Delegates, Referees, and Others) who awarded grade Dan before the congress; people who are not in such list will be not allow to participate in the event (championships, Seminars, Clinics, Training Camps, etc). If any athletes who awarded any grade Dan are not in the official list will be not included in the list to the draw.
Art. II: Since January 1, 2004, all participants who integrate the nominal of a National Federation in any function (Athletes, Referees, Delegates, Doctors, Psychologist, Physiotherapeutic, etc) should affiliate to Pan American Judo Union. Pan American Judo Union will not receive individual affiliations of any National Team and it is mandatory to participate in Championships, Clinics, Seminaries, Training Camps, etc. If any competitor is not affiliated before the technical congress will be exclude of draw and will not be allow to participate or appellation. Important Note: The following rules are to be applied since January 1, 2004 according to the resolutions of PJU Ordinaries Congress, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Art. III: Those events where different consecutive proofs are joined, Kata, Shiai and Teams or any other, athletes will have only one official weight in, as they do not change their category in the subsequent events, in order to avoid a major tiredness in them. Apply since January 1, 2004.

PARTICIPANTS
Each national federation may register 1 athlete by category for a total of 16 fighters (8 men and 8 women).
LIMITE OF AGE
There is no limit of age. In case of minors the athletes must have the authorization of their National Federation.
WEIGH IN
The weigh in will be held on the day before the competition. The athletes will weigh naked or with interior clothing under the supervision of a Judge of the same sex. The athlete can step up the scale only once. No weight tolerance will be accepted. Adopting the resolution of the PJU, which wants all athletes participating in consecutive tournaments must weigh in only once, the athlete who participates to the International FEDOJUDO and the Central America and Caribbean Championship in Santo Domingo will not have to weigh in for the Caribbean Championship if he won’t change category. The athlete will be weighed in with the passports.
JUDOGI CONTROL
The judogis will be controlled before each fight. Each competitor will provide a white and a blue judogi
.DRAW
The draw will be done in the evening of Saturday 14th at the Hotel of the Organization.
COMPETITION SYSTEMS:
ROUND ROBIN (five or less competitors)
DOUBLE REPECHAGE (More than 5 competitors)
Art. I: Tied between three (3) competitors. Same criteria in the tied, such criteria are:
1. - Number of won combats
2. - Score
3. - Result of head to head competition between those two
4.- Three or more tied draw and contest again
Art. II:
Round Robin special situations, the following rules will govern:
Rules Involving:
a) Fusen Gachi (absence) opponet - 10 points
b) Kiken Gachi (Abandon) opponet - 10 points
c) Hansoku Make (disqualification) all points that have been received by the
competitors awarded the penalty are erased, lost or removed
Cases where there are five
competitor’s entries in the same category:
a) Award five (5) place even when one of the competitors doesn’t win any combat.
Cases where Round Robin places are
not full:
a) Award medals even
the entries are not complete, like this:
Example:
One Competitor - Gold
Two Competitors - Gold and Silver
Three competitors – Gold, Silver and Bronze
Four Competitors - Gold, Silver and two Bronzes
Five Competitors - Gold, Silver, two Bronzes and 5th place
Medals/Places will be granted they have or non win the competitor a combat.
All the resolutions about Round Robin had made effectives since January 1, 2004 and therefore applied in this event. These resolutions were approved in the Congress of PJU, Santo Domingo, November 2004.
REGISTRATION DATES
According to the Form prepared for this purpose, the deadline for registration shall be:
§ Nominal Inscription 25 May 10th, 2008
§ The flight information and transportation choices for Delegations arriving from the Dominican Republic should be sent to the Organizing Committee no later than Mai 25th.
UNFORSEEN
Everything that has not been herein forseen shall be resolved by the Executive Committee of the Caribbean Judo Confederation and the Haitian Judo Federation.
