Letter Sent by Ronaldo Veitia to the Direction of Referee on the implementation of the Video Retard System in the Panamerican Judo Union

Dear Sir:

With this letter we want to present to you the criteria shared by all the members of our technical group who work tirelessly for the development of our Judo.

We have been able to observe in the last international events held by the Panamerican Judo Union, a series of actions in respect to arbitration that are revolutionizing our sport, we are referring specifically to the use of the Video Retard System for the analysis of possible controversial decisions.

Unquestionably we believe without fear of being mistaken, that this new method implemented by the Direction of Referee of our Union, which was consulted with all the participating countries by means of surveys in several events of our sport where most of the coaches showed total support and conformity with the application of such measure.

We considered that this imposes a greater preparation to our referees, an unavoidable concern to be constantly perfecting themselves to do correct justice, because being aware of the method that is being used a greater attention is put to the combats to search for decisions that are even more correct which is something that doubtlessly cause satisfaction, because before no mater how serious and terrible an error could be it could not be rectified in this way, with the new method after previous consultation and a correct analysis of the video the mistake can be fixed on the applicable base that the force of power is in doing what is right and logical.

To talk the truth about a matter is entitled to people who are well informed, in our group we wish to express to you our complete agreement with this method. There are truths that to be proven only the time factor is needed, ideas like this one make our sport (Judo) more brotherly and pure, it is certain that this road will bring our Panamerican area closer to better results in the Olympic and World levels,

Congratulating you with all frankness. We are convinced that our arbitration in the Panamerican area will be more fair every day and will serve as example for other continents, we only hope that this good initiative is used in all the competitive levels
