PJU Ordinary Congress 2006
Pan American Judo Union Elections
The Pan American Judo Union Ordinary Congress took place there in the very warm seats of ‘Las Cúpulas’ Hotel ‘El Paseo’, Maracaibo. To our continental Union, General Secretary and Treasurer were elected. There in wide advantage the Accountant Oscar Cassinerio and the Eng Edgar Claure were re-elected to their respective charges of PJU Secretary and Treasurer to the period 2006-2010. This congress counted with the participation of 37 countries, 6 of them were represented by proxy, being Brazil the one with most of them (Uruguay and Puerto Rico).
PJU Congress participants were:
South America: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Surinam, Uruguay and Venezuela.
Caribbean: Antigua & Barbuda, Dutch Antilles, Aruba, , Bahamas, Barbados, Cuba, Haiti, Caiman Islands, American Virgin Islands, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Saint Kitts & Nevis, Santa Lucia, and Trinidad & Tobago.
Central and North America: Belize, Canada, Costa Rica, El Salvador, United States of America, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama (joinned during UPJ congress).

One of the most relevant aspects in the congress was the acceptancy of Panama Judo Federation as a Nacional Federation with the height of being joinned to Pan American Union. Panama Federation was out of affiliation since 2001.

Fernando Ibáñez: 8 votes
Invalid Votes: 1 vote
Treasurer: Edgar Claure: 27 votes
