PANAMERICA JUDO HALL OF FAME
REGULATION
The Pan-American Union of Judo with the express intention to recognize its great men, collaborators, institutions, etc., has prepared this regulation for the first exaltation to the Hall of Fame of the Sport of Judo of the Pan-America to take place within the framework of the Pan-American Championship of Judo de Mayors, Kata and Team that was made in Margarita Island, Venezuela from the 19 to the 26 of April 2004, hoping that the National Federations affiliated with our organization can make their nominations to the Commission of Education of the Pan-American Union of Judo.
CATEGORY: ATHLETE or
COMPETITOR
Will be considered in this category to all those Judokas that by their
participation in competitions at the international level have obtained the
results to represent their country. The podiums obtained in World-wide
Championships and Olympic Games, Pan-American Championships and Pan-American
Games will be valued fundamentally. One is due to emphasize that those that
obtain this position at international level, not only represent their
country, but also the Pan-American judo. The minimum age to postulate a
candidate in this category is 32 years of age, with a retirement from the
activity of 5 years minimum.
CATEGORY: TRAINERS:
Trainers who will be considered for this category will be all those ,
who acting at the front of the national team of their country, in
international competitions, have managed to classify in podium those who
they direct. The podiums obtained by those under his direction in World-wide
Championships and Olympic Games, Pan-American Championships and Pan-American
Games will be valued fundamentally. All those who have contributed to the
development of judo in Pan America and the world will also be taken into
account for example: participation as collaborators in seminars, forums,
clinics, publications, books, etc. The minimum age to postulate a candidate
in this category is 50 years of age, with a retirement from the activity of
5 years minimum.
CATEGORY: REFEREES
will be considered in this category all those referees who having reached
the IJF level "A" have participated representing their country and the
PJU in World-wide Championships, Olympic Games, Pan-American Championships
and Pan-American Games. All those who contributed to the development of the
Arbitration in the Pan-America and the world have also been taken into
consideration for example: participation as collaborators in seminars,
forums, clinics, publications, etc. members of the Pan-American Commission
or the IJF, Director of Arbitration of the PJU or the IJF, etc. The minimum
age to postulate a candidate in this category is 50 years of age, with a
retirement from the activity of 5 years minimum.
CATEGORY: LEADERS:
Those who will be considered in this category are all those who in
representation of their country have managed to hold positions as Directors
of the PJU, or in the IJF or any other organization of world-wide relevance
bound to the sport activity. All the who have acted in support of the
development of the Pan-American or international judo. The minimum age to
postulate a candidate in this category is of 50 years, with a retirement of
the activity of 5 years minimum.
CATEGORY: DISCIPLINES
APPLIED TO JUDO:
Will be considered for this category all those who are not classified in
the categories before mentioned and that through their ties to the sport of
judo in their country have managed to participate at the Pan-American or
international level, offering their contribution for the development of our
discipline, Comprised in this category are for example, the doctors,
kinesiology, psychologists, journalists, investigators, scientists, etc. The
minimum age to postulate a candidate in this category is 50 years, with a
retirement from the activity of 5 years minimum.
CATEGORY: INSTITUTIONS
will be considered for this category, all person of legal age, with or
without profit aims, that with their drive and ties to the sport of Judo in
his or her country have managed to participate at Pan-American or
international levels, offering their contribution for the development of our
Sport. Those comprised in this category are: Educational facilities,
Companies, Commerce, Industries, Institutes both national and or
international all Organizations none in particular etc. etc.
NOTES:
1.-We ask all National Federations, that when postulating their candidates,
they do so only in the category intended. No candidate shall be postulated
in two or more categories in a synchronized manner. The nomination must be
clear, it must fill the needs of the category and the individual
2. – It should be noted that the curriculum that is offered for each of these candidates in each category will have to emphasize mainly their international performance. The achievements made towards the development of judo in their own country, will comprise the bio of the Hall of Fame.
3. - The Commission of Education of the PJU may ask for additional elements to support the candidatures sent by a National Federation in order to make a wise choice of a person or institution.
4. - The Commission of Education of the PJU will be able to submit the names of people or institutions while notifying the National Federation to which it belongs, of their intent to postulate them.
5. - The maximum amount of candidates will not exceed eight (8) people or institutions every year.
6. - A person or institution shall not be postulated in more than three (3) occasions.
7. - Those named on a personal level or institutional level may lose this condition in the event that they are suspended by a national institution, continental or world-wide institution related to the sport of Judo.
8. - The Committee Director of the PJU will be able to include people or institutions that in his opinion fill the requirements to be elevated in the Hall of Fame in the sport of Judo of the Pan America.
9. - The nominations will be kept secret until the moment at which the Commission of Education emits its recommendations and any influence peddling towards the same will annul them automatically.
10. – It is required from the National Federations that aside from the full name, date of birth, birthplace, nationality, degree in judo or arbitration or both simultaneously and curriculum vitae, etc. of their candidates they should also send a photograph in the following dimensions 1024 x 768 (jpg or tiff)
11. – All annual postulations will be received until the 20 of March of every year. One recommends that the National Federations take due note from the ready date to the effects that the Commission of Education can evaluate each postulation and turn in its opinion to the Committee Director of the PJU.
12. – Any points not taken into consideration in the present regulations shall be decided by the Committee Director of the PJU previous recommendation of the Commission of Education.
