Report of the Ordinary Congress and the World Senior Judo Championships, Osaka, Japan

Distinguished Gentlemen:

Let me present to you, attached, a report of the last Ordinary Congress of the International Judo Federation held the past 08 of September 2003 in the city of Osaka, Japan and the excellent results for Panamerica of the World Senior Judo Championships staged in the Osaka Jo Hall of the referred city from the 11 to the 14 of the present month.

It is then, a recognition to all and each one of the national federations affiliated with this Panamerican Judo Union by the work made and to elevated our level in judo  the world-wide.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

1.    We surpass in two (2) medals the performance of Previous World Championships of Munich, Germany.

2.    We improve the quality of the medals of the World Championships in Munich where we obtained 1 gold, 1 silver and 6 bronze, total eight and compared with the World Championships in Osaka, we obtained 2 gold, 3 silver and 7 bronze, for 12 medals.

3.    Three (3) countries of America contributed medals to the total; Argentina, Brazil and Cuba; however in the previous World Championships in Munich, all medals were contributed by Cuba.

4.    An important amount of fifth and seventh places was obtained by our excellent athletes.

5.    In masculine we obtained the third place with three (3) bronze medals.

6.    In feminine we obtained the second position with two (2) gold, three (3) silver and (4) bronze.

7.    In general we obtained the second place, single surpassed by Asia, with two gold, three silver and seven bronze.
