Re. PJU/PRE 0237/99

Dear Presidents of the National Federations members of the Panamerican Judo Union

Last February 11, 1999 I sent to you my letter reference 0233/99 about the distribution of the 140 quotas for the Winnipeg Panamerican Games. In this letter you may verify that the final deadline for the competitors numeral enrollment by country is Midnigh of April 24, 1999.

As you must have noticed, many countries were not included and many others had a very samll number of quotas, due to the limitation of the total number to 140 participants imposed to the PJU by the Event organizers, and these countries are now insisting with the PJU to be granted the opportunity to participate and increase the number of quotas.

Considering that, in these conditions we cannot waste any of the 140 quotas. We inform that the countries that until Midnight of April 24 of 1999 have not made their numeral enrollment according to the number of quotas granted to them, shall lose the right to the quotas alloted to them and those will be distributed to the countries that are listed by a prior order waiting for the not used quotas.

So far, Brazil- Canadá- United States of America and the Dominican Republic have confirmed the total usage of their quotas. Do not leave to the last moment, please confirm the soonest the usage of your quotas, or free the quotas not used so that they are not wasted and may be used by another country.

Blue Judoguis: The PJU Director Committee, considering that the Panamerican Games are preparatory for the Olympic Games and complying with a request made by the Organiser Committee has decided that the blue Judoguis will be used in the Judo competition of the Panamerican Games. The numeral enrollment for the Winnipeg Panamerican Games may be forwarded to:

The PJU President Office by fax nr. 55-11-5724248 or fax nr. 55-11-572746 or also by e-mail bahi@ibm.net.

The PJU Sports Director Office by fax nr. 1-915-566-1668.

Best Regards,

Panamerican Judo Union
