World Championships	The first 8 males and 8 females per category qualify their NOC 1 place.	56 males and

Continental Rankings	Continents will be allocated places to be attributed according to the continental rankings:	168 males and
	AFRICA: 3 males and 2 females per category.	98 females
	5 judokas x 7 categories = 35 athletes
	ASIA: 5 males and 3 females per category.
	8 judokas x 7 categories = 56 athletes
	EUROPE: 9 males and 5 females per category.
	14 judokas x 7 categories = 98 athletes
	OCEANIA: 1 male and 1 female per category.
	2 judokas x 7 categories = 14 athletes
	AMERICAS: 6 males and 3 females per category.
	9 judokas x 7 categories = 63 athletes
	35 + 56 + 98 + 14 + 63 = 266 athletes

Host nation	Automatically qualify 4 males and 3 females.	4 males and 3 females

Invitations	15 invitations to be allocated by the Tripartite Commission.	15 athletes
