Competition Venue:	Las Vegas Convention Center
Cost:	Competition Entry Fee is $70.00 per participant. Camp Fee is $75.00 per participant. All costs, including lodging, are the responsibility of the Competitor or the National Federation unless otherwise notified.
Insurance:	Each International Delegation shall be responsible for its sports accident insurance and civil liability insurance for its members during the championships. USA Judo declines all responsibility in these matters. United States Citizens must be members in good standing of USA Judo.
Entry Deadline:	International Delegations: Preliminary Participation Notice must be FAXED to 719-866-4733 by August 18, 2004; Entry Rosters and Travel Itinerary must be FAXED to 719-866-4733 by September 1, 2004 United States Citizens: Eligible athletes (Senior A-E; Junior A-B) will receive entry packages directly. Deadlines will be contained in the entry package.
Headquarters:	Marriott Hotel Complex near Convention Center; Las Vegas, Nevada Registration, Check-in, Weigh-in, and Draw will be at the Headquarters

Lodging:	$119 + tax. Flat Rate 1-4 persons per room. Reservations MUST be made by September 1, 2004. Availability cannot be guaranteed after that date!!
Reservations:	Call The Marriott; 800-583-0079. Ask for the "Judo Group" code. Refer to Hotel Flyer for additional information.
Transportation:	USA Judo will reimburse International Delegations for shuttle transportation (maximum of $10.00 per person) from the airport to the hotel (conveniently located outside of baggage claim.)
Rules:	Contest Rules and Sporting Code of the International Judo Federation. These rules include, but are not limited to, eligibility, draw, weigh-in, length of contests, and competition procedures. Specific rules (not a complete list): · Categories having five (5) Competitors or less: Round Robin Pool (every competitor competes against every other competitor) will be used. · Categories having six (6) competitors or greater: Knockout System with Double Repechage will be used. · Match duration: 5 minutes for Men and Women · “Golden Score” overtime will be used. · There is no limit to the number of entries permitted per country.
Judogi:	The use of blue judogi IS REQUIRED for this event. Competitors should bring a minimum of two sets of Judogi.
Anti-Doping Control:	Testing, in accordance with the Anti-Doping Rules and Procedures of the International Judo Federation and U.S. Olympic Committee, and the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), will be conducted.
National Anthem and Flag:	Each team is requested to bring along a normal cassette tape on which its national/regional anthem (short version) is recorded, and a hanging national/regional flag having dimensions no larger than 120 cm x 180 cm.

El Centro de Operaciones del Abierto de USA será en el Hotel Marriot de las Vegas.	Tournament Site and Headquarters Hotel in Las Vegas for the US Open.
Este año la competencia se llevará a cabo en el Centro de Convenciones de las Vegas. Se ofrecen 3 opciones de hospedaje, localizadas a minutos del centro de competencias.	This year the competition site will be the Las Vegas Convention Center. This year you will also have a choice of three Marriott Hotel properties, located minutes from the competition site and from each other, and only a short walk to the famed "Las Vegas Strip".

Entry forms have been mailed directly to qualified US Athletes. IMPORTANT TO USA ATHLETES: it has come to our attention that we used a database that had not been updated at the time of mailing. We are in the process of mailing forms to those we missed or for whom we had invalid addresses. If you believe you are qualified and have not yet received an entry form, send an email to the Tournament Director and one will be sent to you. The postmark deadline for entries is Sept 1st so there is plenty of time to get your entry in. All other information (schedule, hotel reservations, etc.) can be found on this website. Those qualified are: Senior level A-E and IJF Jr./Juvenile C level A-B; former elite, Olympic, World and Pan Am team members.
