UNION PANAMERICAINE DE JUDO

City of Guatemala, February 7th, (10:00 p.m) PJU Press Commission. The 2003 affiliation and accreditation process of  to the Pan American Judo Union has started today. It began with great success, after being approved in the Congress 2002 of Pan American Judo Union, conducted in the city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where the Congress approved by a large overwhelming majority the Resolutions presented by the Executive Committee. These Resolutions are directly related with the annual affiliation of sports members, referees and officials, as well as the PJU and IJF recognition of the DAN Grades and published in this web site, at the following URL Address: http://www.pju.org/nuevo/resolcarnet.htm (PJU Resolution 01-2002) & http://www.pju.org/nuevo/resoldan.htm (PJU Resolution 02-2002).

This first PJU ID Process and ID Deliveries was coordinated by the PJU Treasurer and Press Commission, for which a functional and explicative poster was made and placed in different sites where the participants of the Central American Juvenile Judo Championship were or visit. This poster clearly and easily explains all the steps to be followed for the affiliation and for getting the PJU ID, which certifies the owner as a member of the Pan American Judo Union, and this ID will allow him / her to participate in all the official competitions of the PJU. The first competitor affiliated by the Pan American judo Union for the year 2003 was Ms. Katerine Valverde (Costa Rica).

The simple process of PJU affiliation is achieved after following three steps: The member who affiliates cancels the affiliation fee, which may be of USD $ 20 or USD $ 30, depending on the function that person has within the National Federation. Then the individual provides with personal information (Date of birth, Passport or ID Number, National Federation he / she belongs to, Kyu or Grade he / she has at present, etc.). Finally, a picture is taken, and this person receives the PJU ID for members.

During the PJU ID Process, the competitors got from the PJU Executive Committee members a Judogi. After this process, which was fast and effective, the coaches, referees and officials were accredited, apart from the competitors, who participated in the 2003 Central American Juvenile Judo Championship. During this event, the process of certification and homologation of DAN Grades was also carried out, completing in this way the Resolutions of the PJU Congress
.

At the end, all the participants received their PJU ID’s, that will be valid for a year, until December 31st 2003, and will allow their bearer to participate in all the events supported by the PJU.
