Background
The Team of Nations will be conducted in Paris, France during the period September 16-17, 2006. The Panamerican Judo Union (PJU) is allotted a quota of two (2) female teams and three (3) male teams. France has the right to enter its National Teams (female and male). This means that the European Quota will be five (5) for female and male (quota 4 plus 1 from France).
Further, Europe has the possibility to replace with National Teams from Europe up to 2 missing teams from other Unions.
The Organizers are being asked to provide three (3) competition areas (or more) allowing the organization of its two day event (Saturday for men and Sunday for women).
The duration of each contest for female and male is five (5) minutes.
The quotas for the different Unions are:

A team consists of seven (7) competitors with the possibility of up to seven reserves (one reserve is allowed for each weight category). Each competitor is entitled to compete in her/his own weight category or in the next higher category. A team has to be composed of at least 5 (five) competitors to take part in the competition.
The categories of competition are:
Female: 48KG, 52KG, 57KG,
63KG, 70KG, 78KG, +78KG
Male: 60KG, 66KG, 73KG, 81KG, 90KG, 100KG, +100KG
ACTION REQUIRED
It will be appreciated if you will inform the Sports Director of the PJU on or before June 8, 2006 if:
a) Your National Federation will not participate.
b) Your National Federation would like to participate, if approved by the PJU. In the event you would like to participate, please fill out and return the “COMMITMENT TO PROVIDE TEAM AND RELATED MATTERS”.

COMMITMENT TO PROVIDE TEAM AND RELATED MATTERS

_____________________, hereby agree, confirm and commit that: The
National Federation for Judo for _______________________ will enter, if
approved by the Panamerican Judo Union, a team consisting of:
Female: ________ competitors. A Team consists of seven (7) competitors with the possibility of seven (7) reserves. The categories of competition are: 48KG, 52KG, 57KG, 63KG, 70KG, 78KG and +78KG.
Male: ________ competitors. A Team consists of seven (7) competitors with the possibility of seven (7) reserves. The categories of competition are: 60KG, 66KG, 73KG, 81KG, 90KG, 100KG and +100KG.
All expenses involved in the assembly, transportation to and from Paris, France, the provisions of accommodations (room and meals) while journeying to Paris, while in Paris and returning there from will be paid by the National Judo Federation of ___________________.
Provide a blue and white judogi and all other clothing and equipment.
Will include, as part of its cost and part of its delegation, an IJF “A” Referee.
